A Boyle County teen who was found in New Mexico following the murder of her stepmother is being held in a juvenile holding facility in that state.

Jenna Oakley, 15, was located by the Tucumcari Police Department in New Mexico with 
20-year-old Kenneth Nigh of of Arlington, Indiana, according to Kentucky State Police. The two were found about 9 p.m. Saturday in a car belonging to Oakley’s deceased stepmother, Rhonda D. Oakley, 52.

Deputy Chief Pete Rivera with the Tucumcari Police Department said Jenna Oakley was being detained in a juvenile holding facility somewhere in the state. He wasn’t sure what the charges against her were, but said they were likely related to possession of a stolen vehicle.

Nigh was arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He has been lodged in the Quay County Detention Center.

Rivera said Nigh was also being charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.

The two were found after Tucumcari Police received a report that they were in the area. Officers found them in the parking lot of a Motel 6 but they had not checked in, Rivera said.

At this time, neither Nigh nor Jenna Oakley is facing charges from Kentucky, said Trooper Robert Purdy with the Kentucky State Police.

Jenna Oakley disappeared from Boyle County on Thursday, the same day that her stepmother was found murdered in her home just north of Junction City.
