Computer Classes Offered at the library in September

The Boyle County Public Library offers free computer classes every month. The computer classes to be held at the Library in September include:
• Computer Basics on Wednesday, 11 a.m. Wednesday
This class covers the basic elements of the Windows PC operating system, including using a mouse and
keyboard; highlighting, copying, and pasting text; common menus, toolbars, and shortcuts; overview of software and storage media.
• Facebook on Wednesday, 3 p.m. Wednesday
Facebook is a popular social networking site that allows you to connect with others. Learn how to
upload pictures; update your status; set your privacy and account settings; and search for family and friends. If you already have a Facebook account, please bring your account login information. (Basic computer and internet skills recommended.)
• eBooks: Overdrive Online Library, 2 p.m. Sept. 12 September 12th at 2:00 pm
Learn how to check out and download thousands of eBooks and Audio Books from the Library’s
collection for free. Bring your eReader device and library card with you for check out.
• Resume Writing Workshop on 2:30 p.m. Sept. 19
Learn how to create or update a basic, well-written resume.
• Introduction to Microsoft Word, 2 p.m. Sept. 20
This class teaches basic word processing using Microsoft Word. It covers using the ribbon; creating, saving, and printing documents; highlighting, copying, and pasting text; formatting lists; checking spelling and grammar;
creating tables; applying headers and footers; and using and creating templates. (Computer Basics recommended.)
• Twitter on Tuesday, 10 a.m. Sept. 27

• Android Tablets/Smartphones on Wednesday, September 28th at 11:00 am
This class will cover a basic introduction to tablets and phones with the Android operating system (NOTiPad/iPhone). Topics covered will include touch gestures, settings menus, and how to download apps. Bring your own device for the best experience!
