1933-2016
Evelyn Lester Coyle, 83, passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016. Born Feb. 13, 1933, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Anna Mae Carter Lester and was the wife of 49 years to the late Bobby M. Coyle.
She was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and raised her family at Beech Grove Baptist Church. She worked for 12 years at Jonathon Logan clothing factory in Burgin and 10 years at Cricketeer Manufacturing Co. She retired as a cafeteria staff worker for the Boyle County Board of Education. She worked alongside her husband on their family farm.
She is survived by four children, Bruce Coyle (Jana), Andy Coyle (Bonnie), Eulaine Goodpaster (Kenny), Luticia “Tish” Shupe (Jeff); five grandchildren, Matt (Angie), Zach, Megan and Trevor Coyle and Justin Cheatham (Sarah); six great-grandchildren, Lakin, Cloe and Ryleigh Hardy, Luke and Ella Cheatham and Brooklyn Mullins; and four siblings, Eulaine Carey, Edith Lester, Ethel Gray (Aaron) and Georgia Cocanougher.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, James Carey and a niece, Lou Cocanougher.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at Wilder Funeral Home with pastor Dean Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in the Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9 at Wilder Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Andy, Matt, Zach and Trevor Coyle, Bertice Riley and Ersel Blevins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Gray and Dale Elliott.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Beech Grove Cemetery Fund.
