1944-2016

Jimmy Arlen Johnson, 71, of Stanford, died Wednesday Sept. 7, 2016. Born Dec. 29, 1944, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Bryant and Clara Wilcher Johnson.

Jimmy was an avid mechanic who worked at Stuart Powell Ford for 15 years. He enjoyed working on mowers and cars. He also loved to fish and hunt.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Johnson, and two brothers, Phillip and Kenneth B. Johnson.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Penny Etta Roark Johnson; a son, Jimmy Dewayne Johnson of Junction City; a daughter, Cathy Mae Johnson of Junction City; three step-daughters, Lisa Kay Maddox of Anderson, Indiana, April Lynn Wells of Moreland, and Lori Ann (John) Harris of Boyle County; four sisters, Delores Yates of Hustonville, Jean (Donnie) Shearer of Nicholasville, Lorene Campbell of Hustonville, and Diane Duvall of Danville; a brother, Bryant Johnson; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City with Rev. Dale Denton and Rev. Johnathan Grizzell officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City.

Pallbearers will be Blaine Anness, Ray Cochran, Roby Thompson, Donnie Shearer, Simon Gilpin, Jeff Eaton, Jimmy Dewayne Johnson, John Harris, and Dale Lewis.
