T.J.Maxx holds grand opening, check presentation Saturday

National retailer T.J.Maxx will have a grand opening 8 a.m. Saturday in its new location on the South Danville Bypass. The 22,000 square-foot clothing and home goods store is in the old GoGo Gorillas building.

A release from the company said it will hire for approximately 60 full- and part-time positions.

In celebration of the grand opening and in spirit of community support, T.J.Maxx will contribute $5,000 toGrace Café, the local pay-what-you-can eatery. The check will be presented during a ribbon-cutting Saturday morning.

“We are pleased to provide a new store in Danville, delivering value and an exciting selection of merchandise to serve the needs of customers,” said Richard Sherr, president of T.J.Maxx. “With thousands of new items from top designers and brands arriving in stores weekly from around the world, shoppers will discover a new store full of amazing values every time they visit.”

T.J.Maxx says the Danville store also joins all other’s nationwide in sponsoring Save the Children’s U.S. Programs. The company also supports Save the Children, Autism Speaks and Joslin Diabetes Center with annual in-store fundraising campaigns.

The company says its buyers work with thousands of brands and designers from around the world and shop year-round, not just seasonally, in order to take advantage of merchandise opportunities. T.J.Maxx, 2900 South Danville Bypass, will hold a grand opening 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday for shoppers, with the first 1,000 customers receiving reusable bags. The ribbon-cutting and check presentation will be at 7:30 a.m.

Regular hours will be 9:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
