News Release
Clark’s Run Environmental and Education Corp. and Ephraim McDowell Memorial Hospital are partnering to offer an outing along a new section of trail that follows Clark’s Run through Danville for the second week of the “Get Moving Marathon,” an 8-week challenge of Sunday afternoon run/walks throughout Danville that will ultimately allow you to complete the distance of a full-length marathon.
At 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, participants are to meet at the City of Danville’s Maintenance Garage parking lot across from Bate-Wood Park (off of Second Street). Before the walk or run begins, community members will give participants background on the trail and Clark’s Run, which played a central role in our community over the years.
Registration forms can be picked up at McDowell Wellness Center, Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center information desks, Danville Bike and Footwear, Hibbett Sports, Bunny Davis Recreation Complex and The Advocate Messenger or can be downloaded from the Ephraim McDowell Health website at www.emhealth.org.
Registration forms can be turned in at McDowell Wellness Center or at the kick-off event. A free Get Moving T-shirt will be given to all participants who submit at least seven weeks of minutes.
