Offense: Danville came back from a bye week to post its most points since beating Betsy Lane 67-12 in a 2012 playoff game. … QB Zach Dampier is second in the area with 1,250 passing yards and he leads the area with 16 TDs. … Dmauriae VanCleave, Ellison Stanfield and David Walker have combined to catch 61 passes for 950 yards and 11 TDs. … RB Donlevy Harris is tied for third in the area with seven rushing scores.

Defense: The Eagles have allowed 255 yards total over the last two weeks, 65 through the air. … They’ve forced six turnovers. … They allowed 260.2 yards per game.

WHEN CAMPBELLSVILLE HAS THE BALL

Offense: Five different players have rushed at least 20 times for Campbellsville, led by Austyn Thornton’s 240 yards and four TDs on 24 rushes. … Tyrion Taylor has played QB the last two games, throwing for 190 yards and two scores on 10 attempts. … The Eagles scored six rushing touchdowns last week, all by different players.

Defense: The Admirals have forced eight turnovers this season. … They gave up 128 yards in last week’s win. … Danville allowed 68 yards in last year’s win over the Eagles.

Quick take: If the Ads can get off to a start like they did last week, we could be looking at another running clock in the first half.

WHEN BELL COUNTY HAS THE BALL

Offense: Austin Asher (455 yards, five TDs) and Nathan Collett (363, 6) lead the Bobcats rushing attack, which averages 245.2 yards per game. … In their two wins, Asher has rushed for 297 yards and five scores while Collett has added 216 yards and three scores. … Bell throws fewer than five passes per game.

Defense: The Rebels allow 273.4 yards per game, split nearly 50/50 in rushing and passing. … Senior Dalton Lawrence (5-foot-10, 155 pounds) averages nearly eight tackles per game. … Collin Miller had his team-leading third interception last week.

WHEN CASEY COUNTY HAS THE BALL

Offense: QB Breece Hayes leads the area with 1,277 passing yards, completing 78% of his passes with 13 TDs and one interception. … RB Collin Miller is the top receiver in the area with 450 yards. … Miller adds 196 rushing yards, and he’s put the ball in the end zone an area-best 14 times. … Miller, Britt Pendleton and Preston Tucker have all had 100-yard receiving nights this season, the first time that’s happened in Casey history.

Defense: In losing two straight games, the Bobcats have allowed 61 points and 529 yards.

4th And Goal: Casey has never beaten Bell County. … Bell coach Wayne Mills has outscored Casey by more than 41 points per game in five meetings. … A Casey win would set new school records for longest winning streak and best start to a season.

Quick take: History is pointing directly in the opposite direction, but it’s awful hard to go against the Rebels this season.

Mercer County (3-3) at East Jessamine (3-3)

WHEN MERCER COUNTY HAS THE BALL

Offense: Eleven players carried the ball for 280 yards in last week’s win, led by RB D Smith (12 carries, 113 yards) and RB Grayson Blevins (13-72-1 TD). … The Titans average 338 yards per game. … Smith and Dustin Baker rushed for 162 yards in last year’s win. … Mercer averaged 5.3 yards per rush in that game.

Defense: The Jaguars have allowed 385 yards and seven TDs on the ground and 75 points in the last two games. … Kyle Gann has a team-best three interceptions.

WHEN EAST JESSAMINE HAS THE BALL

Offense: Despite losing their last two games, RB Aaron Fortenbury (55 rushes, 273 yards, 1 TD) and QB Kyle Gann (28-108-4) have kept the Jaguars rushing game in tact. … Gann has gone 10-of-27 passing for 178 yards and two scores over two games. … Fortenbury is 255 yards away from being the Jags first 1,000-yard rusher since Chris Mastin in 2014.

Defense: The Titans forced four turnovers and allowed 162 yards in last week’s win. … Seth Tatum and D Smith each have two interceptions, and both have returned one for a TD. … DL Tyus Short has 61 tackles and two fumble recoveries. … LB Grayson Blevins averages 11.7 tackles per game

4th And Goal: Mercer has won three of its last four road games, winning by an average of 39-16. … The Titans are 5-0 in district games under coach David Buchanan, outscoring opponents 189-47.

Quick take: My special sports editor sense says this will be the best area game of the week. If the Titans can contain Gann and Fortenbury, they could go 2-0 in the district.
