Allen Shearer Ramsey

Allen Shearer Ramsey, 29, of Danville, passed away Wednesday at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. Kentucky.

He was born on August 18, 1987, in Danville to Dr. Barton L. and Allison Sanders Ramsey. Allen is survived by his wife, Brittany Hinkle Ramsey.

Allen was a graduate of Boyle County High School, starting his career in cattle farming before graduation and carrying it on passionately. He was the owner/operator of Ramsey Farms, LLC, most recently relocating his operation from Monticello, Kentucky to his childhood farm in Danville. Allen was a dedicated husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend; always placing family above all else while maintaining a work ethic few could match. He and his wife, Brittany, regularly attended New Charity Baptist Church in Monticello.

Also surviving is a daughter, Layla Alynn Ramsey of Danville; grandparents, James H. Jr. and Gloria Sanders; a brother, James Barton Ramsey (Rebecca) of Lexington; two sisters, Hillary Ramsey Dabney (Brian) of Versailles and Fizzy Ramsey of Danville; two nieces, Claudia Allison Dabney and Mildred Edith Ramsey; a nephew, James Barton Dabney; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Allen is preceded in death by grandparents Barton L. Ramsey Jr. and Allene S. Ramsey.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Koger Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel.

Pallbearers are James Ramsey, Brian Dabney, Brandon Ellis, Jason Adkins, Johnny Garza, Brian Gover, Blake McPherson and Wesley Hinkle.
