State police seeking surveillance videos in death investigation

Kentucky State Police are asking for the public’s help in the death investigation of 22-year-old Boyle Danville woman Desiree Sparks.

Investigators are hoping to locate surveillance video in several locations. KSP has requested that homeowners or businesses in the following locations call KSP Post Seven at (859) 623-2404 if they have any roadway video footage of the following locations on Sept. 27 from 1 to 5 p.m.:

• U.S. 127 near Citation Drive in Danville;

• U.S. 127 south to West Shelby Street in Junction City; and

• West Shelby Street from U.S. 127 to White Oak Road in Junction City.

KSP is also requesting video footage from Sept. 27 through Oct. 1 on Ky. 698 between U.S. 27 and McKinney.

Sparks went missing on Sept. 27, when she was last seen leaving the area of Citation Drive, possibly in the company of an unknown male subject and possibly riding in a dark-colored SUV.

The dead body of a female was found in woods off of West Skyline Drive in Lincoln County on Saturday. The body was identified as Sparks after an autopsy was performed Sunday.

Since Sparks’ death, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family cover funeral costs at http://bit.ly/2dE8KKY. As of Wednesday morning, $4,463 of the $5,000 goal had been raised.
