David Craig Elder

1968-2016

David Craig Elder, Jr. 48, of Crab Orchard, passed away Monday, Oct. 10, at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. He was the husband of Teresa (Davidson) Elder whom he married on June 12, 2008. Craig was born in Lancaster, Kentucky on March 25, 1968. He was the son of Barbara (Lake) Scheffler and the late David Craig Elder, Sr.. Craig was member of the Kentucky National Guard and was an employee of Deco Art in Stanford. He was a member of the Crab Orchard Baptist Church. 

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Elder; mother, Barbara Scheffler; two daughters, Danielle Ciara Elder and Cassandra Nicole Elder; step son, Tyler Michael Hall; step brother, Christopher Scheffler and step sister, Lori Jolly

In addition to his father, Craig was preceded in death by step father, Donnie Scheffler; maternal grandparents, Scott and Edna (Zachary) Lake; and paternal grandparents, Samuel & Beatrice (Miller) Elder

Pallbearers include: Steve Rice, Chris Scheffler, Tim Lake, Gary Blanton, Charles Gray & Dewayne Siler

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Curtis Brock officiating. Burial will be in the Crab Orchard Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016 at McKnight Funeral Home.
