This week our featured pets are Matt and Louie.
Matt is a gorgeous young adult cat with snow white fur. He has handsome golden color eyes. Matt came to us, along with several of his siblings, from a home where they just had too many cats to care for and feed. Matt is sweet and loving with an even temperament. If you’ve been looking for a cat of a different color, Matt may be just the fellow for you!

Louie is a cute 13-week-old mixed breed puppy. He may be part lab and part hound. Louie has an alert and intelligent look to his eye and handsome tri-color markings with a perfect stripe down his forehead. He is happy to come up to visitors to receive attention and should be a quick learner. Louie is neutered and he’s ready to make a great companion!

October is Adopt-A-Shelter Dog month! This annual event encourages people to save lives and enhance their own by adopting a dog from a shelter of rescue group. At the DBCHS we have many beautiful and loving puppies and dogs that are waiting to find their perfect forever home. If you have been considering adding a canine member to your family, why not choose your next best friend during this special month.
If you’re not ready or able to adopt at this time but still would like to help the homeless animals, you can donate much needed cleaning supplies such as bleach, laundry detergent, Pine Sol, paper towels, hand soap and hand sanitizer. The humane society also needs blankets and towels to use as bedding for the animals especially as we go into the cooler months. Your gifts are always appreciated!
Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
