Paul V. Hibberd

Paul V. Hibberd, 67, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, surrounded by his family.

A native of Chicago, and long time resident of Danville and Louisville, Paul was a graduate of Brother Rice Catholic High School (Chicago), The University of Dayton and the University of Kentucky Law School. He was an accomplished attorney specializing in mediations as a partner in the firm of Hibberd, Johnson, Kang, Cook and Abbott, and was a member of the Kentucky and Louisville Bar Associations.

Paul was a very active member of Springdale Presbyterian Church and his local Habitat for Humanity, and enjoyed his long-time passion as an avid golfer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Hibberd; mother, Helen Hibberd; and step mother, Florence Gorman Hibberd.

Survivors include his wife Debra Hibberd; children, Traci Clifton (Chad), Christopher Hibberd (Crystal), Matt Cecil (Sara), Anne Fisher (Daniel) and Lynn Griffin (Matt); grandchildren, Kyle and Kody Hicks (Chris), Conner Cecil (Matt), Cash Clifton (Traci), Liam and Sidney Fischer (Anne) and Trip Giffen (Lynn); and great-granddaughter, Kaia Hicks (Kody and Kerry); as well as seven siblings and many other loving family members and friends.

A visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 at Highland Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville. In accordance with his wishes, cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at Springdale Presbyterian Church Sanctuary, Louisville.
