Three arrested in Boyle after drugs found during traffic stop

Three people were arrested Wednesday evening in Boyle County after drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in a vehicle stopped for minor traffic violations.

Thomas Blankenship and Kayla N. Hemze, both of Frankfort, were charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (heroin), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (drug unspecified), trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Blankenship was also charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon and first-degree promoiting contraband; Hemze was also charged with tampering with physical evidence.

A third person in the vehicle that was stopped, William Aldridge of Frankfort, was arrested on an outstanding warrant, according to the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office.

During the traffic stop, a K-9 deputy helped locate “digital scales, pills, marijuana and other paraphernalia inside the vehicle,” according to a news release.

“Hemze was found to be in possession of approximately 8 grams of heroin hidden in her vaginal area,” the news release reads. “Blankenship was also found to be in possession of approximately 1 gram of heroin.

Danville Police Department assisted with the investigation.
