Cookies delivered to first responders
Residents at the new Morning Pointe of Danville did what all good neighbors do, delivered a batch of homemade cookies to the Danville Fire Department.
The residents at the senior living and memory care community are excited about their new home, located at 1375 Perryville Road in Danville, which celebrates its grand opening Oct. 25, at 4:30 p.m.
As part of the Life Enrichment Program, Morning Pointe gives seniors the opportunity to give back to local first responders, showing appreciation to those who make a difference in the community each and every day.

The Kentucky Department of Adult Education recently released the names of the top 24 academic programs that reached 25 percent or more of the General Equivalency Diploma (GED) attainment goals at the end of the first quarter in fiscal year 2017. Northpoint Training Center was one of four of those academic programs that were Kentucky Department of Corrections academic programs.
“Northpoint’s education staff work diligently to encourage students and prepare them for the General Equivalency Diploma (GED) test and they are seeing great success from their efforts,” said Warden Don Bottom. “To be in the top twenty-four in the state is an honor and an achievement we hope to continue to attain.”
The adult education program encompasses all levels from non-reader through attainment of a GED diploma and is available to all inmates who have yet to accomplish their secondary education requirements.
