Mark Allen West

1955-2016

Mark Allen West, 60, of Danville, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2016. Born Nov. 27, 1955 in Danville, he was the son of the late Charles “Fred” and Myrtle Virginia Boring West. Mark was a member of the Class of 1974 at Danville High School and was a hoist driver for over 30 years at RR Donnelley Co.

He loved collecting and hunting arrowheads, was an avid flint knapper and fisherman and most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially Ducker Tully, whom he loved as a big brother. He is survived by his wife, Susan Duncan West; a daughter, Lea Dawn West of Danville; a grandson they are raising, Duncan Allen West; a granddaughter, Emalee Jeannette Yates; five nieces; a nephew; and several cousins.

The funeral will be 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Rev. Stacy Wilson will officiate. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, prior to the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be Woody Cherry, Ducker Tully, Dalan Tully, Jeremy Tully, Kim Alford, Ronnie J. Hazlett III and Butchie C. Bryant.
