Dear Editor,

To the Danville residents: Please join me in voting for Kathy Merryman for Danville Board of Education on Nov. 8.

I have known my friend Kathy for 10 years and had the opportunity to work with her on various school projects during seven of those years. Kathy is dedicated to education — period. She is a teacher by training and the mother of two, a 2014 DHS graduate and a current DHS student.

Kathy has shown her dedication to our schools by volunteering in various positions including site-based councils, PTO at all levels, Project Graduation, substitute teaching, forensics and cross country, just to name a few. She never hesitates to help the schools in any capacity and most importantly, she never hesitates to aid a student.

Because of Kathy’s work as a teacher and involvement in our schools, she has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our students and district and the depth of experience important in a well-qualified candidate.

When you go to the polls Nov. 8, vote for experience, leadership and knowledge. Vote for Kathy Merryman for Danville Board of Education.
