William C. McFerson

1930-2016

William C. McFerson, 86, of the Pine Grove Community, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at Ephraim McDowell regional hospital. He was the husband of Lana Woodall McFerson whom he married on July 5, 1985.

He was born Oct. 12, 1930, in Preachersville and was the son of the late Roy and Mary Lucille Woods McFerson. He was a member of the Watts Chapel Baptist Church. He was a former horse trainer and groomer. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the VFW Post # 3634 of Stanford, Ky.

Survivors include his wife, Lana F. Woodall McFerson; one daughter, Sandra and husband Jack Taylor; one son, William Roy McFerson; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Timberlake; and

a brother-in-law, Jerry Lee Woodall 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Brooklyn McFerson and two sisters, Lois Parker and Janet Norwalk.

Funeral will be noon on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with minister, Bro. Travis Farris. Burial will be in Pine Grove Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, at McKnight Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include, Jerry Lee Woodall, Brian, Michael and Cody McFerson, Nate Hicks and Brandon Owens.
