To Be Certain of the Dawn, 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at Singletary Center for the Arts, 405 Rose St., Lexington. Hundreds of voices from the region, including the Danville Children’s Choir, and KY Opera Studio Artists unite in Grammy-winning composer Stephen Paulus’ profound oratorio “To Be Certain of the Dawn.” Tickets are $35-$85, student tickets are $11 at the door. Theater

Cheaper by the Dozen, Friday-Sunday and Nov. 11-13 at West T. Hill Community Theatre, 117 Larrimore Lane, Danville. A heart warming classic about a 1920s dad attempting to run his home and family, consisting of 12 children, a lovely wife and a mangy dog by applying his theories of industrial efficiency.  These award winning theories aren’t so popular with his teenage daughters who are trying their hardest to grow up like all their other friends. Hecuba,  8 p.m. Nov. 9-12 in Weisiger Theatre at Norton Center for the Arts. Presented by Centre College Drama Department and directed by Professor of Dramatic Arts Tony Haigh, the piece tells the 2,240-year-old story of loss and revenge. The tragedy tells the story of the widowed queen of Troy, Hecuba, as she deals with the loss of her children while being sold into slavery. Ordinary Madness,  opening Nov. 18 at New Editions Gallery, 500 W. Short St., Lexington. Featuring Rodney Hatfield, aka Art Snake, who has built an enviable career as an artist and musician. In his latest exhibit, the images reach deep into the realm where darkness and light dwell, drawing viewers into a rich, imagined world.
