Man brandished gun at gas station employees, police say

Danville police officers responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery at the BP Triangle Mart at 10:08 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the police department. The store is located at the intersection where South Fourth and South Third streets merge into Hustonville Road.

A white male wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie sweatshirt and a white baseball cap allegedly entered the store and asked for cigarettes, according to the release. After being denied the cigarettes he was asked to leave. The man brandished a handgun at two store employees, according to the release. The man then exited the building and fled the area on foot.
