Edith Helen Denson


Edith Helen Denson, 74, of Waynesburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 9 at her home. She was born in Lincoln County on May 31, 1942 and was a daughter of the late Stuart Lee and Ethel M. Fletcher Denson. Helen had worked as a seamstress for most of her life having worked for Cowden’s Manufacturing. She was a member of the Ephesus Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sister, Ethel Marie Denson; nieces, June Roundtree, Jean Pollard, Joyce Helt and Janet Neal; nephews, Johnny Pollard and Jesse Moore; several great-nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by sisters, Lois Pollard, Lucille Clemons, and Kathleen Spurlock; and brothers, Lee, Ernest, Harry and Isaac Denson.

Pallbearers include, Jesse Moore, Elvie Dowell, Brandon Ledford, Bernard Neal, and Camerun Coleman.

Funeral services 12 noon, Saturday, Nov. 12 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chester Cornett.

Burial will be in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery and visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov.11 at McKnight Funeral Home.
