1930-2016

June D. Christy, 85, transitioned from this life on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, daughter of Anna Mae (McCowan) Daugherty and Charles Lincoln Daugherty. 

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, June T. Christy; three children, Gwen Buffington, Charles Daugherty and Mark Daugherty; three grandchildren, Clarence Shea Houston, Gina Daugherty and Catherine Clarkson; one brother, James (Flora) Daugherty; one uncle, Matthew “Pete” (Ima Jean) McCowan; and other relatives and friends.

Home Going Celebration will be 1 p.m. Saturday, at First Baptist Danville. 

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday, at First Baptist Danville, Second and Walnut Streets, with Order of Eastern Star Last Rites at 6:30 p.m.
