Two injured in Casey County wreck

LIBERTY — Two people were injured in a Casey County wreck Thursday evening.

According to Kentucky State Police, Jordan Luttrell, 22, of Liberty lost control of his 2002 Chevy Cavalier around 7:41 p.m. The vehicle left the roadway along Ky. 1649 about 4 miles east of Liberty and struck a tree.

Luttrell was not injured but passengers Kathryn Rhodes, 33, and Brandi Keith, 19, both of Liberty, were transported to the Casey County hospital and then flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, where they remained in stable condition this morning, according to KSP.

No seatbelts were in use, according to KSP.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Adam Likins is investigating the accident and was assisted at the scene by additional KSP personnel, the Casey County Sheriff’s Office, Poplar Springs Fire Department, Casey County Rescue Squad and Casey County EMS.
