Ronald M. Pennington 

1947-2016

Ronald M. Pennington, 69, of Danville, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2016. Born Sept. 13, 1947 in Clay County, he was the son of Stanley and Ida Mae Stewart Pennington.

He was retired from Sears. He was a member of Danville First Church of God. He loved his church and serving and was a member of the Board of Trustees. He loved fishing, gardening and NASCAR. He enjoyed helping his wife on the benevolence committee and loved traveling.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Avera Pennington; a son, Robert (Faye) Pennington of Burgin; a daughter, Melissa Smith of Harrodsburg; two sister, Jessie Dean and Shelby Bertram; two brothers, Stanley Pennington Jr., and Verdis Pennington; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 28, 2016 at Danville First Church of God. Rev. Kevin Cummins and Mike Cox will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Dan Stoltzfus, A.J. Johnson, Jerry Collett, Kenneth Warren, Arnold Johnson and Mark Saylor. Honorary pallbearers will be the Board of Trustees. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.

Donations are suggested to the Danville First Church of God Building Fund. Interment will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
