Free concerts at Centre College

Centre Encore Festivus for the Rest of Us will be offered 7 p.m. tonight in Audrey Gillespie Recital Hall (Grant 114) on Centre College’s campus. This will feature student-led ensembles performing holiday favorites from all traditions. 

Wednesday, also at 7 p.m. in Gillespie, voice recitals featuring the students of Catherine Nardolillo and Marie-France Duclose will be performed. 

Thursday, a steel band and African drum ensemble concert will be offered at Combs Warehouse, 853 W. Walnut St. This performance will feature student musicians performing high-energy African, Caribbean and Brazilian music and dance, with instruments including the djembe, steel pan and tamboo bamboo. 

On Dec. 9, the Centre Singers Magnificat Tour Concert will be 8 p.m. at The Presbyterian Church of Danville, 500 W. Main St. The choir will present Monteverdi’s Magnificat along with other works from their upcoming mid-December performance tour of Kentucky. 

All of the concerts are free and open to the public. 

Meetings

Parks and Recreation — 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Boyle County Fiscal Court. Items on the agenda include: update on 2016 capital projects and volleyball court; recommendations for 2017-2018 Millennium Park projects priority list; Kentucky School for the Deaf facility usage for winter; maintenance fee structure for weekend tournaments; fitness center 2017 equipment concerns; and board appointment recognition.

Boyle County Agency for Substance Abuse Policy (ASAP) — 8:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the Boyle County Health Department, 448 S. Third Street, Danville, in the lower level conference room. All interested persons are invited.
