Canned soup food drive

Wives Behind the Blue Line, working in support of the senior citizens centers in Boyle, Lincoln, Garrard, Mercer and Casey counties, are hosting a canned soup food drive through Dec. 9. Donation boxes are located at the police and sheriff offices in each county. For more information, contact Jamie Hatter at (859) 583-0989.

Officials looking for relatives of deceased veteran

Vietnam Veteran, U.S. Marine Corp Steven D. Hancock, a Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Marines, recently passed away and officials are looking for living relatives. He is originally from Danville and passed away on Shakertown Road.

DAR Christmas meeting

The next meeting and luncheon for the St. Asaph Chapter of DAR is 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at the Danville Country Club. The Christmas program will be provided by Emilie O’Connor, who is a vocalist from Centre College.
