Pets of the Week, Dec. 6

Published 9:24 am Friday, December 9, 2016

Photographs are courtesy of Ronnie Logue.

Our featured pets this week are Carla and Ellie.

Carla is a pretty young adult calico kitty. She was brought in as a stray but appears to be in very good health and is well-socialized so we expect she was recently an indoor cat. Carla has a mellow personality and gets along great with other cats. Wouldn’t you like to give yourself and Carla a great Christmas present and make her part of your family!

Ellie is a beautiful 1-year-old Pit Bull mix. She is mostly white with some freckling on her ears. Ellie was found along a busy highway and brought to the humane society for her safety. During her stay she has gotten along fine with a variety of other dogs. Ellie is very sweet. She is eager to please and appears to be very intelligent. Come meet this bright-eyed girl and see if she is the perfect match for you!

This Friday, Dec. 9, bring your pets to the humane society and have their special holiday portrait made by R2 Logue Photography. R2 Logue has been so generous to donate his time on a regular basis to photograph the DBCHS pets so they can be posted online and in the newspaper. His efforts help hundreds of animals find their forever homes every year. Come and support his work by having your special pet photographed. Appointments are available between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Multiple pets and family members are welcome. Your pet portrait will make a great Christmas gift! Part of the proceeds from each package sold will be donated to the DBCHS. Please call the humane society at (859) 238-1117 to make an appointment or for more information.

Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment.  Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
