Bluegrass.org hosted an open house on Wednesday for those in the community and their community partners, and they also presented a monetary donation to the Family Services Association of Boyle County.

“It’s a chance for us to be present in the community and (with) our community partners,” Clinic Manager Anna Duncan said.

During the open house, Bluegrass.org presented Family Services with a check of $300.

“They help a lot of our clients,” Duncan said. “We felt it was a good way to serve the community in general, and we like that it was local.”

Family Services Executive Director Crystal McPherson accepted the donation during the open house.

“I appreciate the monetary value of the donation; I think more so I appreciate the recognition (of) the need in our community and the ability of our agency to address the need,” McPherson said.

Bluegrass.org Hub Administrator Christi Altobello said it was great to have an opportunity to give some money away.

“It’s nice to be able to give back because we’ve received so much from United Way,” she said.

“When they are giving the donation without us requesting it, it means they saw what we do for the community,” McPerson said. “It’s a big deal.”
