Wilderness Trail Homemakers Club representatives Rita Bloom and Nancy Nye deliver toys and a cash donation for the Danville Fire Department Christmas toy drive. Receiving the gifts are from left, firefighter L. Davidson, firefighter James Crawford, Battalion Chief M. McCurdy, and Lieutenant D. Carpenter.

Taylor Graves, daughter of Ray and Billie Jo Graves, along with her cow, Zeva, competed at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin in October and received a banner for Reserve Grand Champion. She then competed at the North American International Livestock Expo in Louisville in November where she took the Champion Banner and won the banner for Total Performance.

Fresh boxwood wreaths are hanging in the windows of the McDowell House Museum thanks to the Garden Club of Danville. Members made the wreaths in preparation for the club’s annual Green Tea at the historic home in early December. The Garden Club has been decorating the house and preparing a holiday tour and tea for the public for over 50 years. Donations have raised thousands of dollars for the Salvation Army and Family Services Association of Boyle County. With fall comes pine cones in one’s yard, but these fallen pieces of nature became works of art for the residents at Morning Pointe of Danville and guests from Bethel Baptist Church.
