In memoriam: A candlelight memorial

Hundreds who have lost loved ones in recent years gathered at Stith Funeral Home locations in Danville and Junction City Friday night to light candles on Christmas wreaths. Owner Mary Stith said about 400-450 candles were placed on the giant wreaths at each funeral home location. A candle was placed for each person the funeral home has cared for in the past two years, as well as for anyone who called in and requested a candle, Stith said. Short memorial services were held during the wreath-lighting event.
