Linda Faulconer

1929-2016

Linda Ann Battle Faulconer, 87, of Danville, died on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, in Danville, Kentucky. Born Oct. 16, 1929, in Tupelo, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Lona Leigh Jordan Battle, and the widow of Elijah Potter Faulconer III. She was predeceased by her brother, William Morris Battle. She and her husband were both members of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Harrodsburg.

Linda received her BA degree from the University of Mississippi and taught for several years in the Mississippi Public School System. After marrying and moving to Danville she received her MA degree from EKU and became a substitute teacher for the Danville and Boyle County school systems. After her retirement, she worked as the bookkeeper for Small Engine Service in Danville, Ky.

She is survived by three children, William Johnstone (Linda) Faulconer, Laura Shelby (Robert Helton) Faulconer, and Thomas Jordan Faulconer; and six grandchildren, Lauren Nicole (Tyler) Clements, Faith Alysson Faulconer, Joshua Prophet Helton, Caleb Storm Helton, Jordan Alexander Faulconer and Shelby Rosel Faulconer.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Peter Doddema officiating. There will be visitation at 10 a.m. prior to the service.

The family requests memorial donations to St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.
