Scholarship winner
Wesley Caleb Lowry, at 2016 graduate of Boyle County High School, has been selected to receive a full scholarship from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to pursue a degree in civil engineering technology at Bluegrass Community Technical College. This scholarship, which was established in 2009, has been awarded to many exceptional students from around the state. Currently, the scholarship is worth $12,000 for an Associate’s of Science in Civil Engineering Technology degree. Students are offered the opportunity to work for the Cabinet during summer months as well as full-time employment upon graduation. Students are chosen based on performance in high school or college, ACT scores, aptitude in math and science and an interest in engineering technology as a career.
