Soldier’s Christmas surprise
Cpl. John E. Michael, USMC, surprises his mom, Susan Michael, with a Christmas gift she will never forget — being home for Christmas! Cpl. Michael has been stationed overseas and his family has not seen him for the last 1-1/2 years.
Knights donate money
The Danville Knights of Columbus presented checks to two local organizations with money raised from the local Tootsie Roll Drive. The Knights of Columbus thanks everyone who contributed to our successful Tootsie Role Drive in October and November, 2016, in Danville and Harrodsburg. Rey Schaefer and Warren Jackson co-chaired the drive.
Holland-Farm: Rey Schaefer presents a check for $790 to Helen Overstreet, executive director of Holland-Farm, which is a day training program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community.
Pioneer Vocational Industrial Services Inc.: Rey Schaefer presents a $400 check to Mike Pittman, executive director of pioneer Vocational Industrial Services. Pioneer is a not for profit organization that has provided services to individuals with disabilities in the community since 1967.
Casey County Senior Citizen quilt
Casey County Senior Citizens made a quilt to raise funds for the Lake Area Foundation Senior Fund. David Allen of Lincoln County was the lucky winner of the quilt. If you would like to support the Casey County Senior Citizens, we are still accepting donations at our center located at 85 Beldon Avenue in Liberty or you can mail donations to Lake Area Foundation Casey Senior Fund, P.O. Box 1570, Russell Springs, KY 42642.
Sandra and Kleber Bartram, from Lincoln County, joined the list of Karaoke singers performing at the Casey County Senior Citizens Center recently. We enjoyed their singing.
McDowell Place door decorating winners
