Women’s conference

Gethsemane Baptist Church will host the 21st Annual Women’s Conference “No Idle Hands” on Saturday, Jan. 28 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be Tyra Lokey and special music will be by Perryville Women’s Choir. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. A love offering will be taken. Soup buffet

St. James A.M.E. Church, 124 East Walnut St., is having a soup buffet from 11:30-5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7. The all you can eat buffet will include bean soup, chili, vegetable soup, cornbread and crackers, cake and sauce, and ice tea and lemonade. A donation of $6 is requested. Preaching and singing

BRODHEAD — Philadelphia United Baptist Church, 834 Bryant Ridge Road, Brodhead, will have Bro. Russell Murphy preaching at 6 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 8. Singing will be by Bro. Murphy and the Murphy Family Singers. Regular  Sunday services include: 10 a.m. Sunday school; 11 a.m. church service; 6 p.m. church service; and Bible study, 7 p.m. Wednesday. The first Sunday of each month the service will be held at 10 a.m. at the Brodhead nursing home.
