Jan Delaney

1939-2017

Jan Delaney, age 77, of Bluffton, South Carolina and formerly of Dayton, Ohio and Danville, Kentucky, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 at home.

Mrs. Delaney was born on Sept. 30, 1939 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late Jack and Garnet Bechtol. She attended the University of Dayton, earning a Certification in Education. She worked as an elementary school teacher for several years before retiring to care for and raise her four sons. She later worked with Heartline Tour and Travel, overseeing organized tours in the United States and Canada. She fully retired in 2000 and enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband. She was a Christian and practicing Catholic attending St. Peter and Paul in Danville.

Mrs. Delaney is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 56 years, John Delaney; sons, Michael Delaney (Nahara), Scott Delaney (Diana), Doug Delaney, and Steve Delaney (Sandi); and 13 grandchildren.

A private funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. Andrews Catholic Chapel, 220 Pinckney Colony Road, Bluffton, SC 29910.
