1930-2017

Goldie Masters Davis, 86, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Christian Care Center of Lancaster. She was born on October 10, 1930 in Jessamine County to the late Hamilton and Lena Murphy Masters.

Goldie was preceded in death by her husband, Rowland Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of Lancaster Christian Church. Her life surrounded her family and her faith. Surviving are three sons, James Davis (Dora Sue) of Lancaster, Ricky Davis (Angela) of Lancaster, and Harold “Thomas” Davis (Verna) of Stanford; two daughters, Beverly Hunter of Lancaster and Vickie Newton (Glenn) of Irvine; a brother, Luther Masters (Mayme) of Nicholsville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Goldie was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Newton; two brothers, Morris and Bill Masters; and six sisters, Gertrude Harrison, Betty Peel, Lois Ledford, Minnie Ledford, Cotha Davis, and Ruth Guy.

Funeral services 11 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2017 at Spurlin Funeral Home of Lancaster with Rev. Don Burton and Rev. Bryce McCulley officiating. Burial in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 5-8 p.m.

Pallbearers are Randall Stathers, Dusty Skinner, Andrew Lukanov, Glenn Newton, Caleb Skinner, and Josh Cheek.
