The Happy Heart Luncheon will offer a healthy heart presentation by Ephraim McDowell Heart & Vascular Institute cardiologist Sharat Koul, M.D.; a feature presentation by Maria Montgomery, Miss Kentucky USA 2009; and a fitness demonstration by McDowell Wellness Center staff members.

Guests will receive a delicious heart-healthy lunch catered by Dunn’s BBQ & Catering, gift bags and entries into a drawing to win door prizes.

“With heart disease killing so many women each year, we want to do something fun but educational for our communities,” said Keith Bridges, MHA, vice president of Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation, Marketing and Public Relations. “This event will be very informative, fun, and the guests will enjoy a great heart-healthy meal.”

Heart disease is the nation’s number one killer of women.  Nearly half a million women will lose their life to the disease this year — that’s approximately one death per minute.

Tickets are limited to this exclusive event and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased by calling (859) 239-2419 or by visiting www.emhealth.org/happyheartluncheon.
