Lloyd “Shorty” Miracle

1931-2017

Lloyd Lester “Shorty” Miracle, 85, of Moreland, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017. Born March 12, 1931, he was the son of the late Elisha Green and Dolly Johnson Miracle.

He ran Shorty’s Grocery in Hustonville and later in Moreland. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a member of Harris Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Byrda Manuel Miracle; two sons, Jerry (Beverly) Miracle of Texa and Mark (Emily) Miracle of Moreland; two daughters, Kathy (Scott Pugh) Smith of Stanford and Kaye (Melvin) Addington of Hustonville; two brothers, David (Phyllis) Miracle of Crab Orchard and Gilbert Miracle of Tennessee; one sister, Dessie Tims of Auburn; seven grandchildren, Tonya, Toshia, Dana, Craig, Ross, Shelby and Joshua; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Anthony Holtzclaw, and seven brothers and sisters.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Chaplain Brad King. Burial with be in Hustonville Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 18. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday.
