Maurice Theodore Irvin

1921-2017

Maurice Theodore “T.D.” Irvin, 95, of Stanford, Ky. passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Stanford Care and Rehab. Born August 11, 1921, in Lancaster, Ky., he was the son of the late Theodore and Ora Lee Wheeler Irvin.

He was a retired employee of Cowden’s Manufacturing where he worked as Regional Maintenance Supervisor. He was a past member of Lincoln Lodge #60 and a member of Stanford Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Martha Davidson Irvin of Stanford, Ky.; one son, David Irvin (Jo) of Wilmore, Ky.; one sister, Goldene Burton of Stanford, Ky.; one grandson, Sammy Grimes (Kim); and three great-grandchildren, Matthew Grimes (Kendra), Hannah K. Grimes, and Sarah B. Grimes.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Receon Irvin.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 22, 2017, from 5-8 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the funeral home with Reverend Jim Baughman officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, Ky.

Casket bearers are Mike Fitzpatrick, Marvin Marshbanks, Jimbo Adams, Sammy Grimes, Matthew Grimes, and Brent Cain.
