The Boyle County Public Library offers many fun, educational events throughout the year. Weekly programs include Crafters Who Care 6 p.m. Mondays, Storytimes on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, and Coding Clubs 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. In addition to these weekly events, the following Library-sponsored programs are scheduled for this week:

• Adult How-To Workshop: Starting Seeds

The library offers a monthly “How-To” program series for adults, where participants can explore the information and skills needed for a new hobby or activity, guided by a local expert.

On Monday, at 6 p.m., the library will host “Starting Seeds Indoors,” presented horticulture expert Alexis Amorese. Workshop participants will hear useful tips on how to get a jump on spring by starting seeds indoors. This program will be held in the Community Room.

• Danville Community Forum

The library is currently in the long range planning process and is seeking community feedback about how it can better meet the needs of the residents of Danville/Boyle County. On Monday, at 7 p.m., the library will host a community forum where people can offer comments and suggestions about ways the Library can improve over the next three to five years. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be served.  The forum will be held in the Mahan Gallery at the library.

• Dr. Seuss Birthday Party

In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday, the library will celebrate Read Across America Day 4 p.m. Thursday. Children, ages 5-8, will hear Dr. Seuss stories, participate in themed crafts and games, and enjoy snacks. Registration is required. Call the library to register your child.

• Cookbook Club

On Thursday,at 6 p.m.,  the library will host the Cookbook Club. The club is a discussion group that will explore the Library’s large collection of cookbooks. Participants will make and share different recipes with the club. They’ll hear what others liked about the cookbook and the recipe they tried, as well as taste-test samples and discover new recipes. Each month will feature a theme.

In March, the theme is Brunch and Breakfast Food. For more information or to register, contact Julia Basil at the library. Registration is required.

• Teen Crafternoon

Teen Crafternoon will be held 4 p.m. Friday.  Led by Julia Basil, this monthly program features a different artistic craft or activity each month. In March, we’ll design key chains using perler beads. This free event will be held in the Mahan Gallery and is open to all teens (ages 13-18). Call the library to register.

• Lego Club

The Library will host Lego Club 4 p.m. Friday in the Storytime Room. The finished Lego creations will be placed on display in the library.
