DAR names Good Citizens

Three seniors from local high schools were honored Friday, Feb. 10 at the St. Asaph Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution monthly luncheon meeting.

The three students recognized as their schools Good Citizens were McCallum Morley, Danville High School, Suzanna Edwards, Boyle County High School, and Grace Crall, Danville Christian Academy. 

To be recognized as their school’s Good Citizen, the seniors were selected by the faculty and the senior class on the four qualities of service, dependability, leadership, and patriotism.

• Grace Crall is a senior at Danville Christian Academy (DCA), a Praise Team leader, president of Warriors on a Mission Service Club, secretary, Beta Club, and a member of the cross country team. 

In the larger community, she is a member of  Youth Leadership Boyle County, Danville Children’s Choir, and Indian Hills Christian Church youth group and Praise Team vocal worship leader.

She is active in community theatre and is currently a member of the cast of The Giver, at Ragged Edge Community Theatre Feb. 10-12 and 17-19

Grace volunteers at Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation and enjoys studio art and photography.  She has not made a decision about the college she will attend.

• McCallum Morley is the son of Yvonne and Joe Morley and a senior at Danville High School. He is president of the Danville High School student body, team captain for Forensics and cross country teams and a member of the baseball team.  He has not made a decision on which college he will attend.

• Suzanna Edwards, the daughter of David and Karen Edwards is a senior at Boyle County High School. She is Cheer Team co-captain. The Cheer Team ranked 5th in the state this year. She is a member of  the National Honor Society, PEP Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Spanish Club, Y-Club, Family Career and Community Leaders of America, Indian Hills Christian Church youth group. She participated in a mission trip to Maytown, Guatemala.  

Suzanna plans to attend Johnson University in Knoxville, TN and double major in Bible and Elementary Education.
