Meetings

Danville-Boyle County Airport Board — 6 p.m., Thursday, March 9 at the airport. General business will be discussed.

Boyle County Genealogy and Historical Society — 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 20 at Boyle County Public Library meeting room. The speakers will be Vickie T. Goode, executive director of Main Street Perryville, and Lisa Bottom, chairman of the book committee. They will talk about a new book “History of Western Boyle County” they are compiling. Visitors  are welcome.

Substance abuse presentation

Friends of the Library will meet 7 p.m. Monday, March 13 at the Boyle County Public Library. The speaker will be Kathy Miles who will address the public on substance abuse in Boyle County. Refreshments will be served.

Women’s Network to hold talk 

The Boyle County branch of The Women’s Network will host a talk by Centre sociologist Beau Weston on “The Price of Inequality” 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 14 in the community room or InterCounty Energy, 1009 Hustonville Road in Danville. A Q&A discussion will follow the talk. The event is free and open to the public. 

Forkland to have annual supper and pie auction

FORKLAND — Forkland’s 14th annual old-fashioned spaghetti dinner and pie auction and  begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18 at the Forkland Community Center with a spaghetti dinner and entertainment. The pie auction begins at 7 p.m. Cost of the dinner is $7 for adults, $4 for children between the ages of 3 and 10; and children under age 3 can eat for free. Admission to the pie auction is free. To participate in the pie auction, bring your favorite pie to sell. All proceeds from the pie auction will go directly to the Forkland Community Center. The Forkland Community Center is located at 16479 Forkland Road.
