Hazel Dunbar Venezie

1917-2017

Hazel Dunbar Venezie, 99, died peacefully Saturday, March 4, 2017 at The Monclair, Decatur, GA. She was born December 11, 1917 in Evans City, PA to James Alfred and Lillian Green Dunbar. She married Ralph Stephen Venezie in 1952 and moved to Ellwood City, PA and in 1976, to Danville, KY.

Hazel was a homemaker and devoted her life to caring for her husband and daughters. She enjoyed golf and bowling with her friends in Danville. Later, she enjoyed playing bingo and singing at McDowell Place and The Monclair. 

Hazel was a member of the Danville Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, and sons-in-law, Allan Rajack and Ernie Gagliardi.

Hazel is survived by four daughters, Judith Gagliardi of Maguncie, PA, Christine Rajack of Loganville, GA, Mary Venezie of Lexington, KY, and Doris (William) Reynierson of Lawrenceville, GA; her grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Holte of Marion, IL, Taylor Rajack of Philadelphia, PA, and Sharp Reynierson of Lawrenceville, GA; and her great-grandson, Harvey Holte; step grandchildren, David (Amy) Rajack, Natasha (Conan) Gallaty; and her step great-grandchildren, Spencer, Adam, Addison and Avery; and many nieces and nephews. 

A celebration of life service is planned for June, 2017 and interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Ellwood City PA.
