This week at the Boyle County Public Library

The Boyle County Public Library offers many fun, educational events throughout the year. Weekly programs include Crafters Who Care 6 p.m. Mondays, Storytimes on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, and Coding Clubs 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

In addition to these weekly events, the following Library-sponsored programs are scheduled for this week:

Tween Advisory Group (TAG)

Tween Advisory Group will meet 4 p.m.  Monday, March 20. TAG provides a way for tweens (ages 9-13) to have fun while volunteering their time at the library.

Teen Challenge

Teens can test their knowledge of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) concepts and engineering design abilities at Teen Challenge 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 21.

At this event, teams will compete in a different challenge each month. This month, teens (ages 13-18) will see who can build the most elaborate structure using newspaper.

This free program will be held in the Community Room at the library.

Spring Film Series: Comedy Tonight! (Week 4)

The Friends of the Library continue with their annual Spring Film Series 7 p.m. Thursday, March 23.

Films will be shown on Thursday evenings in the Community Room at the library through mid-April.

The post-film discussion will be led by Charles Vahlkamp. Popcorn will be available and there is no charge for admission.

In this week’s film from 1980, a man who is afraid of flying has to safely land a passenger plane after the pilots become sick.

Teen Book Club

The Teen Book Club will meet 4 p.m. Friday, March 24 at the library.

The book club, for ages 13-18, will be discussing “Beastly” by Alex Finn. Snacks will be provided. T
