Letter: Doesn’t want ‘drunks,’ violence in Danville

Dear Editor,

Do all opinions count?

When I moved here to Danville in 1982, I found a quiet peaceful town and county to live in. I became so tired of drunks, violence, drugs, beer and liquor stores on every corner in Cumberland, Kentucky, in Harlan County.

Now, it seems the drunks, violence, road rages, drugs and home break-ins and the booze is here to stay in Danville, Boyle County. Folks, do we really need all the above to contend with on a daily basis?

Doug Combs, James Geis, Marty Elliot, Barry Harmon, Merle Baldwin, Lee Roy Hardin and many others are men I consider friends on a weekly basis. No finer law enforcement can you find than these kind and considerate fellows, who go out of their way to speak kindly and quietly to those they serve.
