Now that it is spring and the weather is getting warmer, it is time to come out of the “cabin fever” and look around and see what has been talking place during these cold weather days.

Perryville is enjoying something they have never had until the middle of this past February when the Perryville Jamboree opened in the former Brummett’s furniture warehouse building — “the brown tin building” on the left at the first stop light, turn right.

Chris Brummett is the owner and this is the same band that was for several years on the left as you go Lebanon what is known as the 68 Jamboree. Good entertainment as doors open at 5 p.m. with sandwiches and catered meals. The show starts at 7 p.m. and admission is $10 each.

I just want to comment about the newspaper article that said that Danville is trying to get use of the depot and tower at the west end of town where it can be used as a museum and restaurant.

When I first came to Boyle County and worked at the old Germann’s machine shop, I would eat at the Coffee Cup most mornings. I met so many of the railroad men that worked there then. Time has changed a lot of things and places, but memories are dear to how that west Danville looked many years ago.

Thanks to Brenda Edwards and many other writers for enlightening us on the by-gone years.

Let’s love and appreciate Boyle County and all the things that we have here to draw people to our beautiful area.
