1951-2017

Carol Shannon Curtsinger-Short, 66, of Stanford, KY, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born March 5, 1951, to the late Foster McChord Curtsinger and Carol Jeanne Schneider Curtsinger, she was a retired employee of Mercer County Board of Education where she worked as a teacher in the head start program, was a member of Mercer County Homemakers, and in her spare time she loved to fish. She was also a member of the Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald Wayne Short of Stanford, KY; three sons, John A. Short (Monica) of Louisville, KY, James R. Short (Candace) of North Vernon, IN, and Shane Short (Suzanne) of Nicholasville, KY; two daughters, Carolyn J. Moore of Nashville, TN, and Kelly D. Hughes of Junction City, KY; and six grandchildren, Lauren A. Short, Mackenzie C. Moore, Logan D. Hughes, Hayden M. Moore, Samantha G. Short, and Colten R. Short.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Steven M. Curtsinger and Michael Curtsinger.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford from 5 -9 p.m. Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2017, at New Beginnings United Methodist Church with Reverend Donnie Irvin officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY.
