Three-vehicle collision sends one to hospital

A Lancaster woman was injured and taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center following a three-vehicle collision near the intersection of Lexington Road and Waterworks Road about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to Danville Police, Lorraine Cottingham, 52, of Lancaster, was traveling eastbound on Lexington Road in a 2011 Honda CRV when she struck the rear end of a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 driven by James Easthom, 71, also of Lancaster, as he stopped for traffic in front of him. 

As a result of this impact, Easthom’s truck hit a 2008 Buick SUV, driven by Hope Devasher, 64, of Lancaster.

Emergency crews treated Cottingham at the scene and transported her to the hospital for further observation. The extent of her injuries were not available. No other injuries were reported to police.
