Frances Southerland

1937-2017

Frances Southerland, 80, of Danville, passed away, Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Hurbert Reese.

Frances was born on February 28, 1937 in Casey County, Kentucky to the late Ira and Nannie Lawhorn Wilkerson. She was a homemaker and was a member of Burgin Church of God.

Also surviving are two sons, Douglas Southerland (Mary Nell) of Danville and Phillip Southerland (Gail) of Louisville; three daughters, Julia Graham of Nancy, KY, Edith Yates (Ronnie) of Danville, and Jeannie Riley (Bertice) of Perryville, KY; two brothers, Fred Wilkerson of Ohio, and Bobby Wilkerson (Elane) of Danville; a sister Betty Wilkerson of Shelbyville, KY; nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Frances was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Irvin officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Michael Graham, Joey Graham, Jason Riley, Alex West, Chris Southerland and Shawn Yates.
