Easter breakfast

Our Savior Lutheran Church is having an Easter breakfast from 9:15-10:15 a.m. on Sunday, April 16. Worship service starts at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome. The church is located at 285 Hill’n’Dale Drive. 

Easter musical

First Baptist Church, 1570 North Danville Bypass, is having an Easter musical program, titled “Why Jesus?” arranged and directed by Tim Blevins at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday. 

Revival

WAYNESBURG — Waynesburg Pentecostal Church will host a revival this Easter weekend with Evangelist Bro. Donald Tapio, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 14-15. Sunday services, April 16, will be at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Pastor Gerald Skaggs Jr. (606) 787-7059. The church is located at 12127 U.S. 27, Waynesburg. Everyone is welcome.

Singing

Harris Creek Baptist Church will have The Southern Heirs singing at 6 p.m., Sunday, April 16.

Music

St. James A.M.E. Church, 1224 East Walnut Street, have The Southern Sons, a singing group from Memphis, Tennessee, at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 16. Pastor is Ralph Smith. Everyone is invited.

New ministor at First Christian Church

Rev. Joseph “Joey” Pusateri will preach his inaugural sermon as the new pastor of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) on 555 Eeast Lexington Ave. at 10:45 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 16. First Christian voted unanimously to call Pusateri on February 26 of this year to lead the 174-year-old congregation after a yearlong search.

Joey Pusateri is a graduate of Indiana University with a BA in Comparative Literature and earned his Master of Divinity at Lexington Theological Seminary. He is a Bethany Fellow, past Walker Ministerial Preaching Scholar, member of the Kentucky Region’s Anti-Racism Pro-Reconciliation Team, and board member of the prison and reentry ministry: Mission Behind Bars and Beyond. He wrote a bi-weekly faith column for the Shelby County Sentinel-News and was often a featured speaker and preacher in the greater Louisville area.

Rev. Pusateri served Simpsonville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) as senior pastor for four and a half years immediately before accepting the call to First Christian in Danville. He is married to Jennifer Pusateri, Education Consultant with the Kentucky Department of Education in Frankfort, and is the father of two daughters, Kira and Sadie. “My family and I are delighted to have been called to this terrific community and we look forward with hope and expectation of what God is about to do in this next season of ministry at the historic First Christian Church in Danville,” says Pusateri.
