Burgin FFA greenhouse open

BURGIN — The Burgin Independent School FFA greenhouse is now open from 8 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Students have prepared information sheets for each plant for sale including bedding plants such as Vinca, Snap Dragons, and Zinnia. Also for sale are larger  potted plants, and hanging baskets. You can also visit the Burgin Greenhouse Facebook page.

Safe Communities Task Force — 9 a.m. Monday, May 8 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, McDowell Room, 3 North.

Nature’s Thyme Herb Group — 7 p.m. May 11 at the Garrard County Extension office. Eric Comley, UK Extension Agent will make a presentation on the wildflowers of Kentucky.  Light refreshments will be provided. Please call to reserve your seat at (859) 792-3026.

Correction

A cutline about the Senior Prom on Monday’s front page incorrectly identified Ron Tapley. He is a member of the ballroom dance class and not a resident at McDowell Place.
